Poker Face

Do you ever receive that itch? The itch to bet, to head to the closest gambling den, to discover a good stakes game of Texas holdem, to sit at a Blackjack table for hours on end. I like that itch. And I love to scratch it.

I also like to watch individuals wager. No 2 poker faces seem similar. When I bet I like to assume I put on a poker face which is impassable. But I know I have specific gestures. For 1, the only time I smoke cigarettes is when I wager on poker or Chemin de fer. And then I smoke. Except I chain smoke whether I am succeeding or losing, whether I have a beneficial hand or bad.

I once wagered inside a weekly poker game. The game was constantly 5 card draw. There was a player who wagered with us each and every week who constantly wore a hat. When he was given a good hand, subconsciously, he would start touching and wagering with his hat. Pointless to say, he in no way won.

The greatest poker player I ever saw was a player who created a lot more movements and signals at a poker table than anybody I had ever seen. He was impressive in the way he dressed. Always an expensive suit and tie, footwear shined and nails trimmed. He was meticulous in this manner. And he was generally brushing his pants or holding his hands or putting his chips in tidy little piles.

I use to analyze him for hours on end. I'd tried to see if I could spot his tell. Selecting lint off his jacket- did this mean he was bluffing? Arranging his chips in a very short pile - did this imply he had a very good hand?

Years later I bumped into him in the bar in Vegas and we had a beverage. I asked him if he were aware of all those motions he manufactured or if they had been subconscious. He told me that each little thing he did at a poker table was intentional. He said that everybody is constantly checking out everyone else's poker face. They're attempting to detect the the tell.

So his system was to provide them lots to consider about. His thinking was if they have been thinking about him choosing a piece of fuzz off his jacket and what it meant they sure were not pondering about their cards.

His method was diversion. And it worked for him. In no way give up a program that functions for you.
