Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 1700, and though visas are supposedly needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, highlights 150 slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the normal table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel building that highlights many luxuries on top of the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
